Alderney's harbour is one of the prettiest in the Channel Islands.
Alderney Ferry Services operate a daily 12 seat ferry service between Alderney and Guernsey with the journey to taking just over 1 hour. They also operate a seasonal weekly service between Alderney and Cherbourg.
Condor Ferries is a fast ferry service operates between Guernsey, Jersey, Poole and St Malo with journeys to the Poole taking as little as 3 hours. A traditional ferry also operates in all weathers, all-year-round, from Portsmouth.
Private Vessels
Planning on sailing to Alderney under your own steam? Visiting craft will be met on arrival by a member of the marina’s staff who will issue you with mooring directions. Customs and Immigration forms, given on arrival by port control staff, must be completed before coming ashore. If you intend to stay longer than 14 days, you must have prior permission from the Harbour Authority.
Photographic Identification
If you are arriving into the Channel Islands direct from the UK or Republic of Ireland, you do not need a passport but all visitors do require some form of photographic identification. Irrespective of your nationality if you are arriving from outside the UK or Republic of Ireland you must have a valid passport. If you are in doubt over acceptable forms of ID, please contact your carrier directly.
Non-British/European Economic Area nationals travelling to the Channel Islands from outside the UK or Republic of Ireland, should check whether they require a visa. If a visa is required it must be obtained prior to travel from a British Consulate or British High Commission in their usual country of residence.
